There are millions of people in Africa that have nothing. It's estimated that 1.5 million people died of AIDS in Sub Saharan Africa last year alone leaving millions of orphaned children behind! Poaching and the illegal killing of wildlife is still rife in many areas with not enough man power to end the devastation. IDEAS & SUPPORT from volunteers have time and time again proved successful! Not only in these fields but the teaching and the learning never stops with projects in areas such as medicine, construction, journalism and law! The interaction of volunteers and local communities really works in everybody's favour as it is a great way of uniting the world to fight against true poverty.
Many of our volunteers choose to combine their volunteer projects with some form of adventure travel enabling them to make the most of their trip to Africa whether it is climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania or scuba diving in Lake Malawi we have it covered. Many of our volunteers return saying how much the trip has changed their lives for good. They never could have imagined the things they would see and the experiences they had. This kind of trip also sets you head and shoulders above the rest with job prospects enhancing your CV. Our volunteer projects and adventure trips are extremely worth while as they give you a one of the best opportunities to see the rest of the world.
At Sub Saharan we have only chosen projects we believe will benefit both parties. Our aim is to provide help to those who truly need it! We offer a diverse project range covering vast areas of Sub Saharan Africa, giving you the choice to work in a variety of different fields as well as choosing a country you would like to visit. Our projects range from teaching in schools to journalism, conservation, sports and care work.... the list goes on. Each project has its individual needs and volunteer itineraries are based around these needs to be as effective as possible. Once you make the step booking a placement the only thing you will need to think about is having fun and making a difference in the community.
